제목 Hierarchical NiCo2O4 Nanoneedle-Decorated Ni Foams with Ni Seed Layer as 3D Electrode for Symmetric Supercapacitor Applications
초록 In this work, we have fabricated hierarchically grown NiCo2O4 nanoneedles on 3D Ni foam as an electrode material for high performance supercapacitor applications, which was prepared by a simple hydrothermal method and followed by thermal annealing. To improve the adhesion between NiCo2O4 nanostructure and Ni foam and reduce the contact resistance, the seed Ni layer was firstly deposited on pristine Ni foam before NiCo2O4 deposition. The deposition times of Ni seed layer were varied and the electrochemical performance of the fabricated electrode was investigated. The fabricated electrode showed higher specific capacitance of 2284 F/g at 1 A/g with excellent rate capability of ~ 96 % after 5000 cycles. We have also fabricated symmetric supercapacitor which displayed an outstanding performance of 131.5 F/g at 0.5 A/g with retention of ~92% after 2000 cycles. The fabricated symmetric device showed a maximum energy and power density of around 18.26 Wh/kg and 250 W/kg, respectively.
