Despite the advantages of using metal nanoparticles as catalysts, recovery and reuse of the particles are challenging due to their nanoscale dimensions. To overcome this problem, hybrid nanostructured catalytic materials that consist of metal nanoparticles immobilized on various types of supports. In addition, to improve the efficiency of catalytic reaction performance and recyclability of catalytic particles, magnetically separable systems of catalysts have been suggested using magnetic nanoparticles. In this work, we propose two prototype systems to further improve the catalytic system efficacy. The first strategy employs irreversible adsorption features of micro-dimension catalytic particles at fluid-fluid interfaces. The second one is to use catalysts composited with magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and their magnetic response. |
