This study aimed to prepare functional biomaterials using mungbean starch (MBS), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), naproxen (NP), plasticizers (glycerol and arginine), and melanin (MEL). The prepared functional biomaterials were characterized by FT-IR and FE-SEM, and their physical properties were also evaluated. The photothermal effect and NP release behavior of functional biomaterials were analyzed with near-infrared (NIR) laser. When functional biomaterials are exposure to NIR laser, the MEL added functional biomaterials showed temperature increase from 18 ℃ to 41 ℃. Results of NP release with NIR laser irradiation using artificial skin verified that NP release rate of MEL added functional biomaterials were 3.13 times faster than without the addition of MEL biomaterials. Additionally, NP release at pH 5.5 at various temperatures using buffer solution followed the Fickian diffusion mechanism, whereas NP release using artificial skin followed the non-Fickian diffusion mechanism. |
