제목 Solvent Design of Crocin Extraction and its Chromaticity Analysis
초록 Synthetic pigment has been developed, use of natural dyes was reduced gradually. However, synthetic dyes has carcinogenic and toxic ingredients, so use of eco-friendly natural dyes is increasing again. In this study, extraction of crocin’s yellow dyes contained gardenia was conducted using variable solvent. Chromaticity analysis was conducted using extracted dyes how the colors would change according to Hansen solubility parameter and chi parameter. Then, the optimum process which is the closest to the target color was determined by calculating the color difference of target color and extracted dyes. 15 kinds of organic solvent were used, and CIE color space was used to chromaticity analysis. Then, 4 kinds of solvent which are the closest to the target color are mixed with distilled water. As a result, methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, and 2-propanol were selected,  the closest values to the target color could obtained when 40~60vol%.
