Recent studies show that thin crystal films prepared from lyotropic chromonic liquid crystals (LCLCs) have attractive anisotropic properties applicable to polarizer parts. In our previous study, we synthesized five different LCLCs which showed red, violet, blue and yellow color, respectively and fabricated anisotropic thin films by bar coater. However, fabricated anisotropic film by bar coater such as contact coating applicators showed small coating area. Thus, we fabricated oriented film by slot die coater to compensate above problem. Slot die coating is a non-contact large-area processing method for the deposition of homogeneous films. In this study, anisotropic film was prepared with five different LCLCs using slot die coater and its optical properties were discussed. |
