Superhydrophobic surfaces are of interest for many potential applications, including anti-fouling of ship hulls, anticontamination packaging, self-cleaning windshields for automobiles, airplanes and buildings, anti-fouling and non-wettable clothing. There has been tremendous effort to create superhydrophobic surfaces, including vapor-induced phase separation, crystallization of polyethylene, micellization of block copolymers, colloidal lithography, and synthesis of nanowires and nanotubes. In this study, hydrophobic surface was fabricated using self-assembled structure of inorganic-organic hybrids prepared using alkoxysilane-functionalized polyurethane precursors. |
