Improvement of adhesion with MgF₂nanoparticle-based anti-reflective coating |

Anti-reflective(AR) coatings have been used for a long time because they are highly durable with effective reflectance and glare reduction components and endure both physical damage and environmental damage. MgF₂nanoparticles were used as an AR coating material due to a low refractive index coating by nanoparticles in the visible region. Although MgF2 is an excellent AR coating material, but simple deposition of nanoparticles confronts poor adhesion on optical lenses. In this study, we deposited nanoparticle-based AR coatings with adhesion sufficient to endure environmental attacks by applying inorganic binders. MgF₂nanoparticle film with binder showed a very low reflectance of less than 0.2% and had a harder film strength than the same optical film without binder even at a low drying temperature. |
