Organic TFT characteristics by using biopolymeric semiconductor named as melaindigo |

In the field of organic thin film transistor, many organic or polymeric semiconductors has beed introduced for an application of biocompatible electronics. Recently, indigo and its derivatives materials, which are matural pigments, have beed continuously adopted for biosemiconductor applications. In addition, melanin also has been steadily reported as a biomaterial-based conductor. Here, in this study, a new biosemiconductor or biopolymer material synthesized by recombinant DNA based Escherichia coli was produced with a combination of indigo and melanin, which was namned as melaindigo. Electrical properties and several bandgap analysis demonstrated that the Melaindigo have semiconductic behavior. Through this research, it was possible to confirm the feasibility of a new biosemiconductor made from eco-friendly synhesis rather than artificial synthesis. Futhermore, the melaindigo will be a biocompatible or implantable material that can be used as wearable and implantable TFT. |
