제목 Chlorella sorokiniana cultivation under extreme condition in an outdoor photobioreactor for lipid production
초록 Microalgae have a great capacity for photosynthesisand can synthesize a variety of valuable products. a heat-resistant microalgae Chlorellasorokiniana UTEX 2805 was cultured in outdoor photobioreactor in spring andsummer for the economic production of biodiesel. An industrial flue gasgenerated by combustion of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and a sunlight were usedas energy sources. After performing biomass production under two temperatureconditions (23℃, 36℃) in laboratory-scale, the cells were cultured under outdoorphotoautotrophic condition in spring (March 2014) and summer (July 2014). As a result,C. sorokiniana showed high tolerance to flue gas and high temperature. Insummer, the cell exhibited the remarkable lipid content (>35% of drybiomass) under nitrogen-deficient conditions that promote an intracellular oilaccumulation. C. sorokiniana will improve microalgal biodiesel production underhigh temperature in outdoor conditions.
