Biomimetic Funtionalization of Porous Scaffolds through Biochemical Binding Affinity |

This study focused on the design of highly porous scaffolds with a binding ability to realize various biomimetic functionalizations. The main purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of introducing an avidin-biotin binding system to three-dimensional porous scaffolds for biomimetic modification. We prepared porous hybrid scaffolds by the overrun process. We evaluated the enzymatic degradation and cytotoxicity of the scaffolds as well as cell growth within the scaffolds. The binding of avidin-biotin molecules onto the scaffolds by affinity interactions was characterized. |
