Lignocellulose, a woody biopolymeric substances, is the most abundant natural resource and has improved the quality of human life in various fields including construction and paper industry. Recently, as petroleum resource depletion and environmental pollution from plastics become serious, interest in eco-friendly biopolymers is increasing. In this respect, lignocellulose can be the most effective alternative material based on abundancy and the emergence of nanocellulose. In this study, Development and application of lignocellulose as a wastewater treatment material will be introduced. In the case of cellulose, enhancement of physicochemical properties and improvement of adsorption capacity through processing into nanomaterials and surface modification will be dealt with. Meanwhile, in the case of lignin, the introduction of multidimensional (fiber, micro/nano-particle) polymer fabrication processes and the effect of surface modification on the remediation efficacy will be discussed. |
