Morphological Changes of Alkali Metal Anode in Inorganic Liquid Electrolyte |

In this presentation, the morphological changes of Li and Na metal anode in highly-concentrated Li(Na)AlCl4-xSO2 electrolyte will be discussed. We found that NaAlCl4-3SO2 inorganic electrolyte enables highly stable solid electrolyte interface formation , creating highly dense passivation film mainly composed of NaCl and dendrite-free Na deposits. We also found that the surface modification of Li metal anode by Na-based inorganic liquid electrolyte could suppress the dendritic growth of Li deposits. |
