To Enhance resistance against water of LED phosphor CaS:Eu2+, polymer/silica nanocomposite materials is coated on the surface of the phosphor. The transparent nanohybrid coating materials are synthesized by Stober method, one of the sol-gel method, and radical polymerization simultaneously. One of FED phosphors, Y2O2S:Eu3+, with similar surface property to CaS:Eu2+ is coated before hand. And then, CaS:Eu2+ is coated under the same reaction condition. To prevent the PL intensity of CaS:Eu2+ from decreasing due to contact with water, CaS:Eu2+ is coated without water. Lastly, by comparing the PL intensity of noncoated phosphors with that of coated phosphors, it can be said that the resistance against water is enhanced. |
