제목 Flame retardant mechanisms according to chemical bond of phosphorus/nitrogen flame retardants​
초록 Since polymers are combustible materials, their application in various industries is limited.  Therefore, it is inevitable to introduce flame retardants in order to prevent the occurrence and spread of flames or fires. Using a single flame retardant element in the system is not enough to provide flame retardancy of the polymer. Accordingly, we conducted the research on a synergistic effect of multiple flame retardant elements. Three types of phosphorus-based flame retardants were synthesized to confirm flame retardant mechanism according to P-N, P-O and O-P-N chemical bonds. To compare flame retardant mechanisms, films were prepared by introducing 10 wt% and 20 wt% of each flame retardant into PVC and investigated via TGA, TG-IR, LOI, cone calorimeter, and py-GC/MS.
