Multicomponent Organic Systems that Combine Exciton-Migration and Photochromic Switching for Biological Applications |

Recently, conjugated polymers have received a great deal of attention due to their unique optoelectronic properties, which may serve as a basis for a new generation of optoelectronic devices and biochemical detection. Among the various exciton migration-controlled fluorescence color tuning systems explored thus far, self-assembled nanostructure scaffolds that incorporate with photochromic materials in polymer matrix were expected to demonstrate more efficient exciton migration and possible color tunings. The systems consisted of a photochromic compound in combination with unique luminescent conjugated polymer containing thieno-pyrazine unit that exhibited intensified fluorescence in the solid state. The emission spectrum was tuned by introducing exciton migration and photochromic switching capabilities into the system. |
