제목 A study on optimal pore range for acetaldehyde adsorption behaviors by coconut-derived activated carbon
초록 In this study, coconut-derived activated carbon were prepared for acetaldehyde adsorption. The activated carbon was re-activated from coconut-derived activated carbon at 900°C for 20-60 minutes using physical activation method (CO2 and H2O). The structural characteristics of coconut-derived activated carbon were observed by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. The textural properties of activated carbon were studied by BET, BJH and NLDFT equations with N2/77K adsorption isotherm. The acetaldehyde adsorption capacity was evaluated using an activated carbon coated corrugated filter. As a result, the specific surface area and total pore volume of the activated carbon were determined to be 1380–2040 m2/g and 0.60–0.96 cm3/g, respectively. The acetaldehyde adsorption capacity of activated carbon was found to depend on the pore distribution rather than the specific surface area.
