Systematic analysis of benzothiazole linked carbazole based heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes as an emitting layer in solution processed phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). |
초록 |
We have synthesized four cyclometalated heteroleptic Ir(III) complexes using benzothiazole linked ethylcarbazole (Et-Cz-Bt) as a main ligand and picolinic acid [(Et-Cz-Bt)2Ir(pic)], picolinic acid N-oxide [(Et-Cz-Bt)2Ir(pic-N-O)], 4-Cl picolinic acid [(Et-Cz-Bt)2Ir(EO2-pic)], 4-Cl picolinic acid N-oxide [(Et-Cz-Bt)2Ir(EO2-pic-N-O)] as ancillary ligands, for solution processed phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). The ethoxyethanol was introduced as a solubilizing group into the ancillary ligand by tandem reaction. All the complexes emit bright yellow phosphorescence at room temperature. Upon replacing the thiazole linking group in the ethylcarbazole main ligand by benzothiazole, the efficiency was increased by more than three times. The photophysical properties of the complexes were measured by UV-visible and photoluminescence spectral studies. The yellow PhOLEDs were fabricated with the configuration of ITO/GraHIL11/TCTA:TPBI/Dopant/TPBI/LiF/Al. |
