제목 Fabrication of open cell metal foam using polymer foam
초록 Cellular metals can be divided into two types from the aspects of morphology .One is the Cellular metal with open cell : the solid metal distribute with a lot of small columns or beams which form the cell edges, another is close cell metal : the solid metal distribute with small plates which form the faces of the cells, just like honeycomb. Fabrication methods of open cell can be classified into electro deposition, powder metallurgy and investment casting method. In this paper, Open cell aluminum foam is fabricated by using mixture ceramic mold in investment casting method. the plaster is used to make mold for much lower melting metal The purpose of this paper is to study mixture ceramic mold which can be easily removed and withstand casting temperature and pressure. The results of thermal expansion measure show the fact that mixture ceramic mold shrunk when temperature at 140, 380, and 500℃. The mixtures ceramic mold burnout strength ranged from 1.2 to 2.5kgf/cm2 and decreased with an increase in temperature.
