제목 Electrical resistivity and electromagnetic shielding efficiency of carbon fibers plated with nickel and cobalt
초록 In this work, to improve electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency of the carbon fiber reinforced composites, carbon fibers were plated with nickel and cobalt. The carbon fibers were treated with different current density in a plating solution. The surface structures of carbon fibers were observed by means of XRD and SEM. Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) attached with the SEM was used for elemental analysis. Electrical conductivity was measured by multi-purpose resistivity meter with software. The electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency (EMI-SE) of the composite was measured according to ASTM D4935. As a result, the thickness and uniformity of the coating was increased in proportion to current density. The EMI-SE and electrical conductivity of Ni-Co/carbon fiber reinforced composites can be controlled by a suitable plating condition in this composite system.
