Thin Film Morphologies of Poly(t-butyl acrylate)-b-PDMS-b-Poly(t-butyl acrylate) triblock copolymer synthesized by ATRP |

We synthesized triblock copolymer of poly(t-butyl acrylate) and PDMS using the atom transfer radical polymerization of t-butyl acrylate from poly(dimethylsiloxane) macroinitiator. CuCl/dnNbpy catalyst system was used and the polydispersity of the prepared triblock copolymer was low (1.16). It was confirmed that the bulk morphology of this block copolymer is cylinder type through SAXS experiment and the glass transition temperature of poly(t-butyl acrylate) block is 36oC. The surface morphologies of spun-cast thin film of this triblock copolymer were observed by atomic force microscope with films having different thickness. The surface morphology of thin film was controlled by the surface modification of Si wafers using silane compound. |
