A series of thermal gelling poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PEG-PTMC) diblock copolymer was synthesis and the solution behavior was investigated using TEM,DLS,FT-IR,NMR and micro-DSC. The PEG-PTMC diblock copolymer aqueous solutions ( >25 wt%) underwent sol-to-gel-to-syneresis transition as the temperature increased. The polymer formed vesicle at low concentration and they turned into micelle as the concentration increased from 0.05wt% to 30wt% and the aggregates size decreased for 80nm to 30 nm at 10oC. To use the block copolymer as biomaterials , the cytotoxicity was studied. |
