제목 | Effect of the structure of compatibilizer on the morphology and properties of polyketone/polycarbonate blends |
초록 | The purpose of this work was to control the interface by introducing polymeric compatibilizers with different structure in the blends of polyketone (PK) and polycarbonate (PC). As polyamide (PA) is partially compatible with PK, PA-PC copolymers with diffrent structure were prepared and utilized. Polyamide 6 (PA6)-PC and polyamide 12 (PA12)-PC were prepared with an internal mixer. The copolymers were introduced in the mixing of PK and PC using a twin-screw extruder to form the ternary blends. The morphology of the blends was first theoretically predicted by calculating the interfacial tension, and examined experimentally using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The degree of compatibilization appeared to be different depending on the type of the compatibilizer. Interaction between PK and PA-PC copolymers in the blends, thermal phase behaviour and mechanical propeties including impact strength were also investigated and analysed in terms of compatibilizer structure. |
