The bio-based polyethylene from ethanol sugarcane helps to reduce climate change and greenhouse gases effects because the production of 1kg of biobased polyethylene captures and fixes 2.5kg CO2 from the atmosphere. Highly stretchable biobased multi-layer films, prepared from a range of Metallocene LLDPE, Ziegler-Natta LLDPE and bio-based polyethylene containing 6% polyisobutylene, are manufactured using casting film extrusion system. A percentage of carbon-14 is calculated from total organic carbon according to bio-based polyethylene contents by beta analytic bio-based content testing. High temperature GPC, Melt indexer and UTM(universal testing machine) are used to investigate the effect of molecular weight, polymer disperse index(PDI), melt flow Index(MFI) on the mechanical performance, orientation of films. A polymer chain orientation by number of carbon α-comonomer is critical factors influencing the mechanical performance such as tensile strength and stretchable properties. |
