Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are widely investigated because of their potential applications in electrochemical devices. However, SPEs show low ionic conductivity at ambient temperature. Recently, to overcome it, polymer-in-salt system with ion hopping mechanism has been applied. In this system, the solubility of polymer for salt is important because polymer-in-salt electrolyte contains a large amount of salt. So, we tried to obtain SPEs having high solubility according to hard/soft acid base (HSAB) principle. These SPEs were prepared by using two types of aromatic polymers (poly(1,4-phenylene ether-ether-sulfone) (PPEES, hard base) and poly(1,4-phenylene sulfide) (PPS, softer than PPEES)) and four types of salts (LiCF3SO3(hard cation/hard anion), LiCl(hard cation/soft anion), AgCF3SO3(soft cation/hard anion) and AgCl(soft cation/soft anion)). Then we investigated the effect of HSAB principle in polymer-in-salt system by using ac impedance analyzer, FT-IR and ATR-IR spectroscope. |
