Preparation and Release Behavior of Ketoprofen-Encapsulated Polyoxalate Microspheres |

Ketoprofen is one of the propionic acid classes of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and antipyretic effects. Hydrophobic polyoxalate (POX) has been suggested for use in biodegradable medical devices such as H2O2-sensitive bioimaging probe and controlled release formulation. In this study, we developed ketoprofen-encapsulated POX microspheres by changing kind of solvents and conditions to prepare microsphere about drug content, PVA concentration, Mw of POX and solvent content. The inner and outer morphology and physicochemical properties of ketoprofen-encapsulated POX microspheres was characterized using SEM, XRD, DSC, FT-IR and HPLC. Through the study results, the release behavior can be effectively controlled by kind of solvent and the preparation conditions. This research was supported by the Brain Korea 21 PLUS Project, NRF. |
