Copper-assisted azide alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), the most prominent example of “click” chemistry, has received considerable attention in the field of bioconjugation, and materials science. Novel polyaspartamide derivatives with pendant azide (or alkyne) functional groups were synthesized and used to prepare click gels. Two different bis-alkyne compounds containing ester or urethane linkage were employed as the crosslinker in this study. Additionally, in-situ preparation of composite gels was attempted by using natural polysaccharide derivatives, modified with complementary clickable groups, as a promising alternative for tissue engineering applications. Different gel systems were characterized by their time-dependent gelation behavior along with their swelling properties which were changed by chemical composition and pH of aqueous medium. Also the hydrolytic degradation behavior of hydrogel was examined in water and PBS solution. |
