제목 Preparation of Thiourea-Immobilized Polymer Beads for Sorption of Heavy Metal Ions
초록 In this study, micro-sized porous cross-linked polystyrene beads were prepared by suspension polymerization, and the resulting beads were subsequently acylated with chloroacetyl chloride and finally modified with thiourea. The polymer particles were sieved to obtain the beads with outer diameter in the range of 300-400 µm for sorption study. The polymer beads’ surface morphology and porosity were studied by scanning electron microscopy and BET method, respectively. The modification of beads was confirmed by using FT-IR and elemental analysis. The adsorption efficiency of the polymer beads toward heavy metal ions was studied at various conditions: temperature, pH, concentration, and contact time. The experimental results will be presented in details.
