제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Liquid Crystal Polythiophene Derivatives with Amphiphilic Side Group
초록 We synthesized a polythiophene derivative with amphiphilic side group, and also prepared gold nanowire networks using the polythiophene derivative in order to improve the conductivity of the polythiophene. In addition, polythiophenes, PDnET (n=1,2,3,4), where n is the number of ethylene oxide units in the amphiphilic side group were synthesized. We investigated the effect of the number of ethylene oxide units on liquid-crystalline and structure properties of PDnETs using polarized optical microscopy (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXD), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and so on. PD3ET and PD4ET were found to exhibit a liquid-crystalline phase in the range of 30℃ to 150℃, while PD1ET and PD2ET did not show any liquid-crystalline phase. As a result of GIXD and XRD data, PDnET with three ethylene oxide units showed a well-ordered lamella structure compared with others. Experiments for OTFT using PDnET are under progress.
