Recently, capacitive deionization (CDI) has been used as a water treatment technology due to simple and low operating cost. In membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) , ion exchange membranes ( IEMs) are placed on cathode and anode electrodes, respectively. IEMs play a vital role in achieving ionic absorption selectivity during MCDI . In this study, pore-filled IEMs were synthesized using PE film .The chemical structures and properties of membranes were confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy, SEM, TGA, ion exchange capacity, water uptake and dimensional stability. The electrosorption performances of the MCDI cells were also investigated using an aqueous NaCl solution. All of the experimental results will be presented in detail. |
