In this work, porous resin beads were prepared by suspension polymerization using styrene-divinylbenzene (Sty-DVB) copolymer with different stirring rates, i.e., 60, 80, 90, and 120 rpm for 8 h. The influence of stirring speed on the porous bead was investigated by N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms and scanning electron microscope (SEM). From the results, the morphology of the porous beads was influenced on the dispersion of monomer seeds with different stirring rates. Also, it was found that the bead size was decreased with increasing the stirring rates, indicating that their cohesiveness was weakened among themselves. |
