Heavy metals which existed at waste water of industrial and agriculture field are one of the cause that polluted aquatic ecosystems. If concentration of heavy metals in waste water is increase, it effects not only underwater creatures but also human. Therefore, diverse methods detecting these heavy metal are being developed. Among them, method using metallochromic dye which combine with specific metal ion has advantage in simplicity. We manufactured Metal Ion Sensing Kit (MISK) using metallochromic dye. First, to introduce dye as monomer of hydrogel, double bond was functionalized on dye using esterification reaction. Modified dye and acryl amide are crosslinked to fabricate functionalized hydrogel. In addition, porous hydrogel was fabricated using oil emulsion method. We have confirmed faster detecting time than bulk hydrogel. MISK was manufactured by processing functionalized hydrogel. Through change of color in heavy metal ion solution, detecting ability of MISK could be confirmed. |
