제목 Recent Advances in Samsung Total Polypropylene
초록 Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most important base thermoplastics with a wide range of applications in packaging, automobile, and E&E industries. Over the past twenty years, Samsung Total has been trying to break through in PP product performance. Becoming more competitive in the market is closely related to the development of new materials using innovative technology. Designing the molecular structure with in-house technologies and new high performance catalyst are the key to development of new Samsung Total PP products. Recently, the PZ-PP made by using non-phthalate catalyst was commercially produced. In addition, CSPP, the new impact PP with nano meter scale rubber, and a high gloss PP which can replace styrenic resins are the examples of Samsung Total PP specialties for diversifying PP’s end-use applications. Samsung Total PP technologies, along with the catalyst development and special product design will be discussed in this lecture.
