In order to diagnose and monitor the complex diseases such as cancer, the quantitative detection of multiple proteins are required. For genetic analysis, commercially available nucleic acid microarrays give us sensitive identification of thousands of DNA sequences simultaneously. However, it is well-known that protein is directly relevant to the disease, which allow us to diagnose precisely the disease by detecting the protein. For protein analysis, even though several detecting methods which have their own strength have been reported, real label free detecting protocol has not been completely realized. In this paper, the microcantilever resonators using piezoelectric thin/thick films which are completely label free detecting method are fabricated and applied to protein detection. By immobilizing the surface of the cantilever with the target antibody, the shift of resonance frequency by binding antigen on it is measured, suggesting the possibility of the microcantilever biosensor for protein detection. |
