MnO2 functionalized reduced graphene oxide supported Pt nanocomposites (Pt/MnO2-RGO) were prepared through a facile and eco-friendly chemical method. The morphology and structure of as-prepared catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Subsequently, electrocatalytic activities of Pt nanocomposites were measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV). As a result, Pt/MnO2-reduced graphene oxide (Pt/MnO2-RGO) nanocomposites exhibit that superior electrochemical activity and stability toward methanol oxidation compared to Pt/reduced graphene oxide (Pt/RGO), which was attributed to the better dispersion of Pt as well as the synergistic effect of the modified supports. |
