제목 Thermal and Rheological Properties of Reactive Modified Polylactide with Peroxide
초록 Introduction
In recent years, the use of biodegradable polymers has received much attention due to their potential impact upon the complex issue of plastics waste management. In that point, polylactide (PLA) is one of the most important biodegradable and biocompatible polymers. However, some of limitations for using PLA are its degradation and processing instability that may limit its blow molding or foaming processability. In this study, the effect of peroxide as a modifier on the physical and chemical properties of PLA was investigated.







Experimental
Reactive processing was studied by shear mixing in a brabender plasticorder torque rheometer equipped with two counter-rotating screws and a capacity of 50ml. Intrinsic viscosity, gel contents and melt flow index of modified PLA were examined. Differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric analysis were used to characterize thermal properties. In addition, rheological properties were investigated by using rheometer.
