Microwave-assisted synthesis and electrochemical behavior of nanostructured Fe2O3-graphene composite electrodes for supercapacitors |

Herein, We synthesized reduced graphene oxide/Fe2O3 composite was prepared using a facile two-step synthesis by homogeneous precipitation and subsequent reduction of the GO under microwave irradiation to yield reduced graphene oxide (rGO) platelets decorated with Fe2O3 nanoparticles. It was simultaneously produced to reduce graphene oxide and deposit hydroxide particles on the surface of reduced graphene oxide. The total specific capacity of rGO/Fe2O3 is higher than the sum of pure rGO and nanoparticle Fe2O3, indicating a positive synergistic effect of rGO and Fe2O3 on the improvement of electrochemical performance. The structure and morphology of the composite are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Electrochemical properties were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and Charge-Discharge(CD) in 6M KOH electrolyte. |
