Characterization of OLED electrodes by impedance spectroscopy |

Electron only devices (EOD) were prepared to understand the interfaces between modified elecron transport layer (ETL) and different electrodes (graphene and ITO). Highly resistive diodes were found to be best described by parallel network of capacitance effects. Short-circuiting or leak conductance is modeled by a resistor elements in parallel. In addition to the frequency and temperature independent capacitance effects of ca. 1 nF for 2 by 2 mm device, characteristic dielectric relaxations were observed, which were successfully modeled by Havriliak-Negami type complex dielectric functions of the strength around 1 nF. The temperature dependence of relaxation time constants indicate the interface energetics involving 0.5 eV or so. Sharp drop in the in leak conductance was observed around 270K. |
