Effect of Crosslinking Agent CaCl2 on the Proliferation and Phenotype of Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cells on Alginate Films. |

The retinal discords in which it shows up while an age gives is caused by a heredity. Thus, transplantation of cell in human needs a suitable scaffold. One of the scaffolds, alginate is currently proved to be biological safe. It is identified for producing Ca2+ cross-linked thin films of sodium alginate, using an 0.4, 0.6. 0.8M CaCl2 solution. RPEs were seeded into 1% alginate films. After 1, 3 and 7days of cell seeding, cell proliferation and viability were measured via MTT assay. In addition, morphology of cellular adhesion by SEM. RT-PCR was conducted to confirm mRNA expression of RPEs markers. We confirmed that cell viability on Alginate films of 0.6M were higher than other films.
