제목 Study on the preparation of ethylenepropylenediene terpolymer (EPDM) based graft copolymers employing polystyrene or poly(ethylene oxide) as side chains
초록 In this study, we report the preparation of EPDM graft copolymers composed of EPDM as a backbone and polystyrene or poly(ethylene oxide) as side chains. Polystyrene was first synthesized through reversible addition and fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) technique, followed by a “grafting-onto” copolymerization reaction with ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM). The preparation of a EPDM-graft-poly(ethylene oxide) was also attempted through “grafting-onto” polymer reaction. NR/EPDM co-vulcanizations were then performed in the presence of the EPDM-graft-polystyrene or EPDM-graft-poly(ethylene oxide) and their properties were investigated for rubber applications.
