A self-assembly of amide dendron and cyclodextrins (CDs) was reported to produce unprecedented nanotubular architecture. As with the host-guest interaction of α-, β- and λ-cyclodextrin with pyrene, it is well-known that cucurbituril interact with pyrene moiety. Upon addition of CB to the vesicular aqueous solution of 2G-Py, the emission band of monomeric pyrene increased and of excimeric pyrene decreased in PL. This result indicated that the focal pyrene unit of 2G-Py was included in CB which would induce supramolecular transformation of the Dendron vesicle to nanotube. Therefore, we investigated the self-assembled structure of 2G-Py-CB[n] (n=6, 7, 8, 6-allyloxy) complex by using TEM, SEM, DLS, EDX and confirmed nanotube architecture. Furthermore, we investigated reversible transformation of the assembled structure from nanotube to vesicle upon addition of FGG which removes CB[n] from 2G-Py-CB[n]-NT. |
