Effects of an electron beam irradiation on the optical and mechanical properties of a PET films |
초록 |
PET has good barrier properties against oxygen and carbon dioxide. Therefore, it is utilized in bottles for mineral water. Other applications include food trays for oven use, roasting bags, audio/video tapes as well as mechanical components. In this study, we have examined the effects of an electron beam irradiation on the optical and mechanical properties of poly(ethylene terephthalate). An investigation on film samples before and after an irradiation was performed by UV/VIS spectroscopy. And the mechanical properties such as the tensile strength, modulus, and elongation, were investigated using universal testing machine. |
