제목 Solid Dispersion Formulations of Pioglitazone HCl Using Rotary Evaporation for Improved Dissolution Rate.
초록 Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedion antidiabetic agent which decreases insulin resistance in the periphery and in the liver. Pioglitazone is insoluble in water and has a low dissolution rate. The objective of the current work was to improve aqueous solubility of pioglitazone by solid dispersion approach using Rotary evaporation technique. We prepared pioglitazone HCl solid dispersion using polymeric material i.e. HPMC and PVP. One of its most important characteristics is the high swellability, which has a significant effect on the release kinetics of an incorporated drug. PVP makes drug water-soluble. We analyzed surface of solid dispersed sample by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) was used to analyze the crystallinity. Also the change of structure and crystallinity characteristic of solid dispersion tablet were analyzed by fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).
