Heterogeneous cation membranes were prepared by blending cation exchange particles and sulfonated poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (SPPO). PPO was sulfonated using chlorosulfonic acid and dissolved in the solvent(DMAc) under stirring at room temperature. cation-exchange particles were blended with prepared ion exchange solution and cast. The effect of leading of resin on the properties of the membranes such as water uptake, electrical resistance, ion exchange capacity(IEC), transport number etc. have been studied. Using ion exchange solution and ion exchange particles, the prepared membrane showed outstanding properties. |
