제목 Cell-derived lipid bilayer with selenium catalyst to achieve a permanent release system
초록 Utilizing extracted cell membranes for the fabrication of lipid bilayers is currently gaining sincere attention due to its biocompatibility and versatility. In this study we fabricated a tethered lipid bilayer (TLB) system, extracted from endothelial cells, on surface of titanium and embedded a synthesized selenium catalyst that we synthesized in the lab to achieve a continuous nitric oxide releasing system from metallic surfaces. Surface analysis techniques unveiled successful formation of the TLB with acceptable surface coverage. In vitro cell studies showed superior endothelial cell attachment and proliferation and inhibition of smooth muscle cell in comparison with bare titanium and artificial TLB.
