제목 | Formulation and Preparation of Self-microemulsifying Drug Delivery System containing Ibuprofen |
초록 | A self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems (SMEDDS) was developed to improve the oral bioavailability of poorly water soluble drugs because of its ability to improve drug solubilization and potential for enhancing absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, caused by surfactant-induced permeability. The aim of the present work was to prepare and formulate SMEDDS containing ibuprofen. Ibuprofen, a propionic acid derivative, was the first non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug to be commonly used for the treatment of pain and inflammation, which has not been well absorbed following oral administration. We prepared SMEDDS containing ibuprofen with various oils and surfactants for improving absorption efficiency. In vitro study was investigated by the penetration profile of ibuprofen SMEDDS at the membrane and droplet emulsion size when introduced to water and gentle agitation. It was showed difference with the droplet size by oil and surfactant. This result suggests a possible use of the dosage form as a oral administration delivery system of SMEDDS.
