제목 Material Manipulation by Electric Fields:Application in Self-Propelling Devices, Microfluidics and Electronic Components
초록 I discuss how electrically induced forces could be used to manipulate particles and fluids, which can apply to new fields of microfluidics, self-propelling microdevices and aqueous gel-based electronic components.I focus on a technique for electric field on-chip manipulation of freely suspended droplets. The additional level of complexity can be engineered to turn various types of miniature semiconductor diodes into prototypes of self-propelling micromachines, micropumps and micromixers. While the semiconductor elements can act as functional colloidal particles, colloidal materials also could be used for fabricating nonlinear electric components.
