Frusted Lewis Pair (FLP) is a couple of protic site and hydridic site which can transfer protons(H+) and hydride anions(H-) to the reactant materials in a conserted procedure. The protic and hydridic sites are attached to the same body but are sufficiently seperated by steric hinderance not to make a neutral adduct. Most of known FLP catalysts are homogeneous ones, one has to apply seperation process to extract the final product from the reacted mixture of catalyst, reactant and product. However, the heterogeneous FLP, which are formed onto a solid materials such as the surface metal oxides or the interior or zeolites, do not require additional seperation process and can be applied to the gas pase reaction as well as liquid phase reaction. Intra zeolite FLP and its application to the CIH(catalytic ionic hydrogenation) reactions will be presented with discussion. |
