제목 Preparation of composite films from poly(diethyleneglycol dimethacrylate-co-styrenesulfonic acid) and polystyrenesulfonic acid grafted silica nanoparticles and their application to the polymer electrolyte of direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC)
초록 DMFC using proton-exchange membranes (PEMs) have been considered as one of the most attractive power source for the applications of portable power sources. For High performance DMFC, methanol crossover through PEM should be minimized while maintaining good proton conductivity and mechanical stability. Nafion is widely used as a PEM because of its high ion conductivity, good thermal, and chemical stabilities. However, it has high methanol permeability and high cost. To overcome drawbacks in the Nafion membrane, novel proton-exchange membranes were prepared from, P(DEGDMA-SSA) and silica-g-PSSA. The ionic conductivity value of the composite membrane first increased with silica-g-PSSA content, reached a maximum at about 12wt% silica-g-PSSA, and then decreased. Reduction in the methanol crossover will be expected observed. The experiment is that observing the change of ion conductivity that followed the effect of silica particle size of P(DEGDMA-SSA)/silica-g-PSSA membrane.
