As recent foodborne disease outburst astounded all nation-wide, great attention was raised to time temperature indicator(TTI) as a versatile food monitoring system. Here, we have developed a novel TTI with silver nanoparticles(AgNPs) synthesized in situ inside the carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC). Spontaneous color change in our system could be detected from yellowish to reddish since nanoparticle increases its size naturally. This was fastened in higher temperatures. Such phenomenon can be attrituted to the decreased viscosity as the number of synthesized AgNPs increase along with the distinct aggregation formed from the assembly of newly synthesized AgNPs to the larger particles. This TTI system suggests better practicability in that it is done easily by CMC and AgNO3. Use of natural polymeric particle, CMC also adds environmental friendly advantages since toxic chemical intervene in the system. The conceptual system could act as a cost reduction and eco-friendly effect simultaneously. |
