제목 | Preparation of Antimicrobial Ultrafine Polymer Fibers with Silver Nanoparticles |
초록 | Silver ions and silver compounds have been widely used in various biomedical fields because they have the antimicrobial activity to most of microorganisms.1 Positively charged silver ions attracted to electronegative bacterial cells are bonded to their membrane or bacterial DNA with sulfhydryl groups, resulting in the prevention of proliferation of bacteria and blockage of biofilm production. It was reported that silver nanopartilces also had very strong antimicrobial activity.2 Recently, ultrafine polymer fiber mats with silver nanoparticles are drawing great attention due to their combined properties.3 They can be used for submicrometer filters and will exhibit much stronger antimicrobial activity than conventional microfibers due to their higher specific surface area. In this study, ultrafine polymer fibers with silver nanoparticles were prepared via various methods and their properties were characterized. Fig. 1. TEM image of ultrafine cellulose Fig. 2.
